CHOCTAW, Miss. — Christopher Dearing lives in Philadelphia, MS with his family and currently is an employee of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians. For the past three years, he has worked as an HVAC/R Technician for Choctaw Tribal Maintenance. He has over 10 years of experience working in sales of HVAC and electrical equipment. For 20 years, he has worked in the installation, maintenance, and repair of residential, industrial, commercial, HVAC, refrigeration, electric controls, and commercial kitchen equipment. He also has 10 years of experience working with building management systems.

Mr. Dearing has attended East Central Community College to obtain his residential, industrial, and commercial electrical Technician Certification. He also spent two years with Associated Builders and Contractors to obtain his industrial and commercial electrical certification for refrigeration and air conditioning. He is EPA certified with universal type licenses since 2000; Copeland compressor certified by Emerson Industries; certified by Manitowoc, Scotsman, and Hoshizaki Ice Machines to install and repair, and certified for manage and sales of HVAC/R equipment by Baker Industries and supply.

 In addition to his many accomplishments, Mr. Dearing has just recently received his NCCER National Registry credentials through NCCER’s National Craft Assessment and Certification Program through the Mississippi Construction Education Foundation (MCEF) and has successfully become a Curriculum Performance Evaluator. Along with his current tribal duties, Mr. Dearing is the new instructor for NCCER HVAC Level 2 classes that began November 04, 2020 with five students. This is a groundbreaking accomplishment for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians to have their own employee certified for instruction and training in HVAC.
