Workforce training

A Focus on Workforce Training

At Mississippi Choctaw, we know the keys to a bright future for our tribe are education and job skills. To see our Tribe grow and prosper, we must offer the best and brightest to our business partners – your success is our success. To that end, we provide a variety of assets for workforce development to our Tribal members.

    WIN Job Center

This job center is located within our Tribal lands and assists with job placement, referrals, and training to job seekers. It also offers recruitment and screening services to employers.

    C-TEC Career & Technical Center

This program works with our Choctaw high school to provide vocational training to students in order to prepare them for careers soon after completing high school.

    Some of the fields include:

    Health Science
    Welding
    Culinary Arts
    Carpentry
    Graphic Design
    Ag Science

    East Central Community College

The Tribe partners with ECCC to equip and staff a 10,000 square foot workforce training center at Choctaw, which offers classes for college credit, vocational certificates, as well as customized workforce training for specific local businesses.

National Center for Construction Education & Research

NCCER offers credentialing in technical industries such as HVAC, Electrical, and Industrial Controls. The Tribe offers NCCER classes to Tribal members to help them get certified in these areas and provide a more highly trained workforce to businesses needing employees with these skills.

    Mississippi Coding Academies

MS Coding Academies has opened a remote learning center on Choctaw lands in order to specifically reach local students and help them learn computer programming and cybersecurity skills, helping them quickly gain skills for high-tech employment.

University of Southern Mississippi Cyber Training Partnership

The Tribe partners with USM for cyber security training in a state-of-the-art facility located on Tribal lands. USM provides the instructors for the classes, which are designed to help residents throughout Mississippi learn cybersecurity awareness and defense skills as personal and work tasks are increasingly handled online.
