CHOCTAW, MS — On January 19, 2021, the Mississippi Coding Academies (MCA) and the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians Office of Economic Development had a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the MCA TechShare program that will be taught at Choctaw.  Choctaw is one of only three MCA satellite locations in Mississippi. 2019-2021 Choctaw Indian Princess Elisah Monique Jimmie cut the ribbon on behalf of the Tribe and the Choctaw Tribal Schools.

Attendees at the event included: Tribal Vice Chief Dorothy Wilson; Director of Administration Jason Grisham; University of Southern Mississippi Director of School of Computing Sciences and Computer Engineering and MCA Board Member, Dr. Sarah Lee; Choctaw Tribal Schools Director, Dr. Randy Grierson; Ben Hubbard, GTR Location & TechShare, Mississippi Coding Academies; Brent Gregory, East Central Community College President; Glenn McCullough, Jr., MCA Board Member; Andy Kilgore, University of Southern Mississippi; Mike Forster, MCA Board of Directors/Innovate MS; Shonda Wesley, Facilitator; Justin Fulcher, Founder and CEO of RingMD; Mary Harrison and Roberta Taylor, Choctaw Health Center, and Office of Economic Development Director John Hendrix.
